Information Technology Technician Requirements

Students must meet the following criteria

  • Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, or

  • A non-Alberta equivalent with verified transcript and with a passing grade of 50% or higher; or 3. Successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), or

  • A transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country, assessed at an Alberta recognized assessment service.

  • If applicant’s first language is not English, A score of 6 and above in the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or a score of 15 or above in the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam.

  • Successful interview with the College.

English Language Proficiency

LANGUAGE SKILLS IT Technician Diploma program courses at ACE CAREER COLLEGE are primarily taught in Canadian English. To qualify for admission, learners must demonstrate their language proficiency as follows:

  • Three (3) years of full-time secondary education at a Canadian High School where the primary language of instruction was English; or

  • Two (2) years of full-time study at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada where the primary language of instruction was English; or

  • Three (3) years of full-time study at the college level in a country where the medium of instruction was English; or

  • Through a test of English Language proficiency as follows: IELTS 6 in each section, CELPIP 6 in each section, CLB 7 in each strand, TOEFL 71, Duolingo 95, or Wonderlic SLE score of 20.

Mature Students

  • Mature student status (Must be at least 18 years of age upon commencement) ;

    Must complete an Academic Achievement Test to determine required competency:

  • CAAT (Canadian Adult Achievement Test) or;

  • TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) or;

  • CAST (Canadian Achievement Survey Test for Adults) or;

  • Wonderlic Scholastic Level of Examination or;

  • Accuplacer Test
